Our ANGKAN Story

Three years ago, we set out with a simple vision: to build a true HOME for coffee lovers, passionate baristas, and Filipino coffee culture. From day one, our promise has been clear — to honor our roots while curating the finest local and international beans, crafted with care for every cup.

Today, ANGKAN stands as more than just a coffee company. It’s a community where passion meets precision, where every brew is a story of heritage and innovation. Whether it’s a morning ritual, a study companion, or a moment of pause, we’re here to elevate everyday coffee into something meaningful.

CORPORATE HISTORY

SEE THE WORLD THROUGH COFFEE CORPORATION was founded by mother-daughter duo Rosalinda Ang-Hortaleza and Allue Krisanne Hortaleza-Aherrera, driven by a shared passion for coffee.

Their love for discovering great brews took them across the Philippines and beyond. In Japan, they became regulars at a Kyoto coffee shop, where the owners - seeing their genuine enthusiasm - encouraged them to bring the brand to the Philippines. That moment sparked their journey as franchisees.

THE PASSION FOR PHILIPPINE SPECIALTY COFFEE

Founded on March 13, 2017, STWCC brought % Arabica to the Philippines, opening three stores in W City Center, The Podium, and 257 McKinley.

The pandemic created uncertainty, but by 2021, when the contract with the Japanese brand ended, Nanay San-San and Allue saw an opportunity. Instead of relying on a foreign brand, they embraced their passion—creating a proudly Filipino coffee brand rooted in excellence.

A GROWING LEGACY

On March 27, 2022, three stores reopened under the name ANGKAN, meaning family - a tribute to a mother and daughter’s shared love for coffee.

In its first year, ANGKAN worked to define its identity and find its place in a competitive industry. By October 2023, it opened its flagship store at Imperium Capitol Commons, proudly embracing Filipino heritage in its brand.

By 2025, ANGKAN opened its 5th store at Gateway Mall, marking another milestone in its growing journey.
